Find Usha's Ashes in The Sinking City 2. This guide provides step-by-step instructions and tips to locate this important item and progress through the game.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon arriving in the city, you will start on the 'Charon' ship. This is your first investigation location.
- 2Collect your belongings from the table. This includes a Letter from J. van der Berg, a Camera, and a Pistol.
- 3To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 4Reload your gun by equipping it and pressing Square.
- 5Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 6Use your camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall.
- 7Loot the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 8Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock using Triangle.
- 9Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Note that choosing these options will lock out other dialogue branches.
- 10Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions to a bar and an exit. Turn right.
- 11Climb the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 12To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Again, these choices lock out other dialogue.
- 13Optional: Ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat's location. He will provide directions but will not mark it on the map.
- 14Optional Investigation - Lifeboat Titania: Return to the sign with directions. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 15Optional Evidence in Lifeboat Titania: Inspect the Lifeboat Name 'TITANIA', examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. Be cautious as looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.
- 16Return to Robert Throgmorton with Albert's Will to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun (if obtained via DLC) uses bullets very quickly; save its initial clip for important moments.
- Consider investing a Skill Point into Absolute Clarity (Mind skill) for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after resetting the area.
- Be mindful of the diving helmet in the Titania Lifeboat; prolonged inspection drains sanity.
Collecting all key evidence on the 'Charon' ship grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
