Follow our detailed walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's Coverside West (15) section, covering key evidence, optional tasks, and NPC interactions to help you progress.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Charon Ship Investigation: As your first investigation location, collect the key evidence: your belongings on the table (briefcase, camera, pistol). To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. The camera is a usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
  2. 2
Additional Evidence on Ship: Take a photo of the trophy fish mounted on the wall using your camera. Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings table.
  3. 3
Lootables on Ship: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  4. 4
Interact with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle). Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye.". Note that choosing specific dialogue options locks out others.
  5. 5
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit. Go up the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Interact with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.".
  7. 7
Optional: Titania Lifeboat Investigation: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left toward the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is an optional investigation that grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  8. 8
Titania Lifeboat Evidence: Inspect the lifeboat name "TITANIA". Examine the "Diving Helmet", rotating it to search the front faceplate. Collect "Albert Throgmorton's will" from one of the seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to access some evidence. Be cautious, as looking at the diving helmet for too long drains sanity.
Tips
  • If you purchased the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
  • Consider putting the free Skill Point (if obtained via DLC) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Reloading your gun: Equip your gun via the weapon wheel (hold L1), select the desired gun, and press Square to reload.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after they reset. More valuable loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
  • The Lifeboat investigation is optional and does not affect main case progression but provides XP and lore.

Optional 140 XP for completing the Titania Lifeboat investigation.
