Master deductions in The Sinking City 2. Learn how to find and analyze key evidence, including items, letters, and photographs, to solve cases and progress through the game.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect your belongings (briefcase, camera, pistol) to proceed. The briefcase contains a Letter from J. van der Berg. The camera is used to take pictures as evidence. The pistol requires examination (rotate until an eyeball symbol appears, then press X) and comes with 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (hold L1, select weapon, press Square).
  2. 2
Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall (Photo of a trophy plate). Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Flyer).
  3. 3
Lootables: Search lockers and other lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) for ammunition and crafting materials. These can be looted repeatedly by leaving and returning to the area.
  4. 4
Exit the Boat: Climb onto the dock using Triangle.
  5. 5
Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: After exiting the boat, you'll speak with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance are related to your problem, Robert Throgmorton's location, finding a place to stay, Devil's Reef, and saying goodbye. Choosing specific options locks out others.
  6. 6
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.
  7. 7
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: Speak with Robert Throgmorton. Key dialogue options to advance include asking about his son, the Innsmouthers, the visions, offering to find Albert, and expressing your intention to leave.
  8. 8
Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania: If you ask about the lifeboat's location, return to the pier sign, go left down a path, and then left towards the sea. This optional area provides 140 bonus XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  9. 9
Evidence in Lifeboat Titania: Inspect the Lifeboat Name ("TITANIA"). Examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; be mindful of sanity drain). Find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect evidence.
Tips
  • Collecting all evidence in a location grants an additional 140 XP.
  • The Necronomicon Edition or DLC includes a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds; use these sparingly as ammo is scarce.
  • Consider investing an early Skill Point into "Absolute Clarity" for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to an area, allowing for repeated farming of ammo and crafting materials.
  • Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat, as it drains sanity.
Collecting all key evidence in a location grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation also provides 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
