Learn how to find and use the 'Pin' item in The Sinking City 2. This guide covers its location, purpose, and any related quests or mechanics.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Upon arriving on the "Charon" ship, your first objective is to collect your belongings from the table. This includes your Camera and Pistol.
  2. 2
To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your weapon by equipping it and pressing Square.
  3. 3
Key evidence on the ship includes your belongings and the Letter from J. van der Berg, found within your briefcase.
  4. 4
Additional evidence can be found by using your camera to photograph a trophy plate of a strange fish on the wall and by examining a flyer on a desk.
  5. 5
Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be found throughout the area and reset when you leave and return, providing ammunition and crafting materials.
  6. 6
After leaving the ship, climb onto the dock using Triangle to speak with Johannes van der Berg.
  7. 7
To progress the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing these options locks out other conversational branches.
  8. 8
Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit. Ascend the stairs to meet Robert Throgmorton.
  9. 9
During your conversation with Robert Throgmorton, select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and then "I'll be going.". Again, these choices limit further dialogue.
  10. 10
    Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania
  11. 11
Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be beyond police barricades.
  12. 12
    Inspect the lifeboat's name, TITANIA.
  13. 13
Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to find a hidden detail on the front faceplate. Be cautious, as prolonged examination drains sanity.
  14. 14
Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the lifeboat's seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect it.
  15. 15
Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use this weapon sparingly due to its high ammo consumption.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for resources, but larger stashes may indicate nearby dangers.
Collecting all key evidence in a location grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation also provides 140 XP and unlocks a new conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
