Complete walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's E. Waite mission, including objectives, tips, and rewards. Navigate the mysteries and challenges of the game.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Investigate the "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings on the table (briefcase containing the Letter from J. van der Berg), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (hold L1 for weapon wheel, select gun, press Square).
  2. 2
Collect Additional Evidence on the Ship: Take a photo of the trophy plate (a strange fish on the wall) using your camera. Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
  3. 3
Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  4. 4
Exit the Boat and Speak to Johannes van der Berg: Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle. Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the following dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally, "Goodbye.". Note that choosing these options closes off other dialogue branches.
  5. 5
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Speak to Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select the following dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally, "I'll be going.". Other dialogue branches are optional.
  7. 7
Optional: Investigate the Titania Lifeboat: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is an optional investigation that provides 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  8. 8
Collect Evidence at the Lifeboat: Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA". Rotate the Diving Helmet and examine its front faceplate. Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect some evidence. Be cautious, as looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.
  9. 9
Return Albert's Will: After finding the will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition quickly; save its clip for important moments.
  • Consider putting the free Skill Point (if received via DLC) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
  • Be mindful of sanity loss when examining the diving helmet at the lifeboat.
  • Completing the main objectives progresses the story.
  • Collecting all evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP.
  • Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
