Follow our comprehensive guide to The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission, detailing key evidence, optional objectives, and NPC interactions to help you progress.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin on the 'Charon' ship, your first investigation location. Collect your belongings from the table.
- 2Key Evidence on the ship:
- 3Briefcase: Contains a Letter from J. van der Berg.
- 4Camera: A usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
- 5Pistol: Pick it up, rotate to find the 'eyeball' symbol on the handle, and press X to examine. You receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: The gun is not loaded and requires reloading (L1 for weapon wheel, Square to reload).
- 6Additional Evidence on the ship:
- 7Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera to photograph the fish mounted on the wall.
- 8Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk.
- 9Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for randomized ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents reset upon leaving and returning to the area.
- 10Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock (Triangle).
- 11Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Note that choosing dialogue options locks out other conversation branches.
- 12Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right towards the stairs.
- 13Speak with Robert Throgmorton. To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Other dialogue options are optional.
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Return to the sign with directions. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- Evidence in the Lifeboat:
- TITANIA: Inspect the Lifeboat Name.
- Diving Helmet: Rotate and examine the front faceplate. Be aware that prolonged inspection drains sanity.
- Albert Throgmorton's will: Found on one of the seats.
- Collecting evidence from the lifeboat may require climbing inside (Triangle).
- Finding Albert's Will allows for an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton upon returning it.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it's hard to replenish.
- Consider putting any bonus Skill Points into the **Absolute Clarity** Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects provide a renewable source of ammunition and crafting materials. Be cautious, as containers with more loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
- Collecting all key evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP.
- Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and unlocks an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
