Follow this guide to find all key and additional evidence in The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission, including items, locations, and how to progress.
Walkthrough
- 1On the Ship ('Charon'): This is your first investigation location. You must collect key evidence to leave.
- 2Key Evidence:
- 3Your belongings on the table: Take the briefcase to get the Letter from J. van der Berg.
- 4Camera: Collect the camera, which is used to take pictures for evidence.
- 5Pistol: Pick up the pistol, rotate it until the 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: You must reload your gun (hold L1, select weapon, press Square) before firing.
- 6Additional Evidence:
- 7Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera to photograph the fish mounted on the wall.
- 8Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 9Lootables: Look for the loot symbol (a chest/locker icon). These can be looted repeatedly for ammunition and crafting materials. Contents are randomized.
- 10After Leaving the Ship:
- 11Climb onto the dock (Triangle) to speak with Johannes van der Berg. Choose dialogue options to progress: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Note: Selecting "I need somewhere to stay" locks out some optional dialogue.
- 12Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to an exit. Turn right towards the stairs to speak with Robert Throgmorton. Choose dialogue options to progress: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.". Note: Selecting "I'll be going." ends the conversation.
- 13Optional: Titania Lifeboat (Robert's Request):
- 14Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This area provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but is not required for case progression.
- 15Evidence in the Lifeboat:
- 16TITANIA: Inspect the Lifeboat Name.
- 17Diving Helmet: Rotate and examine the front faceplate. Be aware that looking at the helmet drains sanity.
- 18Albert Throgmorton's will: Found on one of the seats. Climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect it.
Tips
- Collecting all key and additional evidence in a location before finishing the case grants an additional 140 XP.
- If you purchased the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use its initial clip sparingly as ammo is scarce.
- Consider putting your initial Skill Point (if received via DLC) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to an area, allowing for repeated looting of ammo and crafting materials. Areas with more lootable materials may indicate more dangerous encounters.
- Completing the main objectives of 'A Frosty Welcome' allows you to progress the story.
- Collecting all evidence on the ship grants bonus XP.
- Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants bonus XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
