Follow our detailed walkthrough for The Sinking City's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission, covering evidence collection on the 'Charon' ship and the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin on the 'Charon' ship, your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings on the table, the Letter from J. van der Berg (from the briefcase), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: Your gun is not loaded; equip and press Square to reload.
- 2Collect additional evidence: take a photo of the mounted fish with your camera (Photo of a trophy plate) and examine the flyer on the desk (Flyer).
- 3Search lootable objects like the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents are randomized and reset upon returning to the area.
- 4Exit the boat by pressing Triangle to climb onto the dock.
- 5Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Choosing these options progresses the game and locks out other dialogue branches.
- 6Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.
- 7Climb the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and finally "I'll be going."
- 8Optional: Ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat location. He will provide directions but will not mark it on the map.
- 9Optional Investigation - Titania Lifeboat: Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. Collect additional evidence: inspect the Lifeboat Name (TITANIA), examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; beware of sanity drain), and find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. Climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to access some evidence.
- 10After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
- Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammo and crafting materials.
- Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat, as it drains sanity.
