Navigate the "A Frosty Welcome" quest in The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive walkthrough. Find all key evidence, complete optional objectives, and uncover the story.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On the "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  2. 2
Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the trophy plate (a strange fish mounted on the wall). Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of where you collected your belongings.
  3. 3
Lootables: Search lockers and other lootable objects for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset when you leave and return to the area.
  4. 4
Exit the Ship: After collecting key evidence, you can leave. Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle.
  5. 5
Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: Upon reaching the dock, you'll speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally, "Goodbye." Choosing these specific options progresses the quest.
  6. 6
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign. Turn right towards the bar and exit. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  7. 7
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and "I'll be going."
  8. 8
Optional: Lifeboat Titania: To access this optional investigation, return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
  9. 9
Evidence at Lifeboat: Inspect the lifeboat's name "TITANIA." Rotate the Diving Helmet and search its front faceplate. Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect evidence. Be cautious, as looking at the diving helmet for too long drains sanity.
  10. 10
Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use these sparingly as they consume ammo quickly.
  • Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for resources.
  • Optional conversations provide world-building but are not required for game progression.
  • The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional but rewards extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Completing the key objectives of "A Frosty Welcome" allows you to progress the main story. Optional objectives provide additional XP and lore. Collecting all evidence in a location before finishing a case grants bonus XP.
