Navigate Oldgrove West in The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive guide. Find key evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the mysteries of this crucial area.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    "Charon" Ship Investigation:
    • Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase), the Camera (usable item for taking photos as evidence), and your Pistol (examine it by rotating until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, press X). You also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  2. 2
Reload your Pistol: Equip the gun via the L1 weapon wheel and press Square to reload.
  3. 3
    Additional Evidence:
    • Use your camera to take a photo of the Photo of a trophy plate (strange fish on the wall).
  4. 4
Examine the Flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
  5. 5
Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  6. 6
Talk to Johannes van der Berg: After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock (Triangle). Choose the following dialogue options to advance: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Note that selecting "Goodbye" ends the conversation permanently.
  7. 7
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. You will automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton upon reaching the stairs.
  8. 8
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.". Other dialogue options are optional.

Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat

  1. Location: Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
  2. Evidence:
    • Inspect the TITANIA lifeboat name.
    • Examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate). Be aware that looking at the helmet drains sanity.
    • Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the lifeboat seats.
  3. Rewards: Completing this optional investigation grants an additional 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Tips
  • If you purchased the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use these sparingly as ammunition is scarce.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into Absolute Clarity for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects (marked with a symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Areas with more loot may indicate greater danger.
  • The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional and does not add to your casebook, but provides XP and further dialogue.
  • Progression of the "A Frosty Welcome" quest.
  • XP bonuses for collecting all evidence and completing optional investigations.
  • Access to additional dialogue with NPCs.
