Master The Sinking City's Coverside Central (7) with our detailed walkthrough. Find key evidence, optional items, and understand NPC interactions to progress.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all evidence to receive bonus XP.
    • Key Evidence:
      • Your belongings on the table (required to leave).
  2. 2
Letter from J. van der Berg: Found by taking the briefcase.
  3. 3
Camera: A usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
  4. 4
Pistol: Pick it up, rotate until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: The gun is not loaded and must be reloaded (equip gun, press Square).
  5. 5
    Additional Evidence:
    • Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera to photograph the fish mounted on the wall.
  6. 6
Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
  7. 7
Lootables: Objects marked with a specific symbol can be looted repeatedly for ammunition and crafting materials. Contents are randomized.
  8. 8
Interact with Johannes van der Berg: After leaving the ship (climb dock with Triangle), speak to Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Note that choosing certain options locks out others.
  9. 9
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Key dialogue options to advance: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.".
  10. 10
Optional: Titania Lifeboat Investigation: Ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat's location. Return to the sign, go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This optional investigation grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
    • Additional Evidence:
      • TITANIA: Inspect the Lifeboat Name.
  11. 11
Diving Helmet: Rotate and examine the front faceplate. Be cautious as prolonged exposure drains sanity.
  12. 12
Albert Throgmorton's will: Found on one of the lifeboat seats.
  13. 13
Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return it to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use these sparingly as they consume ammo quickly.
  • Consider putting a free Skill Point (if obtained via DLC) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area, allowing for repeated collection of materials and ammo.
  • Be mindful of the "Diving Helmet" in the optional lifeboat investigation, as it drains sanity over time.
  • Collecting all evidence on the "Charon" ship grants bonus XP.
  • Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  • DLC may provide a Submachine Gun, .45 ACP rounds, and a Skill Point.
