Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2, detailing key evidence, optional objectives, and NPC interactions to guide you through the initial stages of the game.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press 'X' to examine it. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your weapon by holding L1, selecting the gun, and pressing Square.
  2. 2
Additional Evidence on Ship: Take a photo of the mounted fish with your camera and examine the flyer on the desk. Lootable objects like lockers can be found and repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials.
  3. 3
Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock (Triangle) and speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: 'About my problem,' 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?,' 'I need somewhere to stay,' 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?,' and 'Goodbye.'
  4. 4
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right towards the 'exit' and go up the stairs to meet Robert Throgmorton.
  5. 5
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance, select: 'What happened to your son?,' 'Who are the Innsmouthers?,' 'What do you know about the visions?,' 'I can try to find Albert,' 'Tell me more about the case,' and 'I'll be going.'
  6. 6
Optional: Titania Lifeboat: If you ask about the lifeboat, return to the sign, go left down a path, and left towards the sea. Find the lifeboat beyond police barricades. Collect additional evidence: inspect the Lifeboat Name 'TITANIA,' examine the Diving Helmet (be quick as it drains sanity), and find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle).
  7. 7
Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use its initial clip sparingly as ammo is scarce.
  • Consider putting a free Skill Point (if obtained via DLC) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to an area, allowing for repeated collection of ammo and crafting materials.
  • Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat, as it drains sanity.
Collecting all key evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also grants 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
