Navigate the mysteries of The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive guide to J. Curwen, detailing key information and walkthrough steps.
Walkthrough
- 1The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings on the table, the Letter from J. van der Berg (found in the briefcase), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun before use.
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall using your camera. Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings table.
- 3Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Optional: Lifeboat Titania: Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. Find the lifeboat beyond police barricades. Collect additional evidence: Inspect the "TITANIA" name, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and look at the front faceplate, be mindful of sanity drain), and find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle).
- 5Conversations: After collecting evidence on the ship, climb onto the dock (Triangle) to speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye." After speaking with Robert Throgmorton, you can ask about his son, the Innsmouthers, the visions, offer to find Albert, ask about the case, or say "I'll be going."
- 6Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign. Turn right as the sign indicates and go up the stairs to speak with Robert Throgmorton.
- 7Robert's Request (Optional): If you ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat where his son was found, he will give directions. Follow these directions (left from the pier sign, then left towards the sea) to find the Titania Lifeboat.
Tips
- If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use these sparingly as they deplete quickly.
- Consider putting a free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after resetting the area.
- Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet in the lifeboat, as it drains sanity.
- Conversations with NPCs offer world-building but are not always essential for game progression. Choose dialogue options carefully to hear all desired information before ending a conversation.
