Walkthrough
- 1Collect Key Evidence on the Ship:
- Your Belongings: Interact with the briefcase on the table to collect your belongings. This is mandatory to leave the ship.
- 2Letter from J. van der Berg: Automatically obtained when you take the briefcase.
- 3Camera: Collect the camera. This item is used to take pictures for evidence.
- 4Pistol: Pick up the pistol, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press 'X' to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: Your gun is not loaded and must be reloaded (hold L1, select gun, press Square).
- 5Collect Additional Evidence on the Ship (Optional):
- Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall.
- 6Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of the table where you collected your belongings.
- 7Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents are randomized and reset upon leaving and returning to the area.
- 8Speak with Johannes van der Berg:
- Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (press Triangle).
- 9Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the following dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Choosing other options may lock you out of certain dialogue branches.
- 10Find Robert Throgmorton:
- Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to a bar and an exit.
- 11Turn right towards the sign and go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 12To advance the game, select the following dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.". You can ask optional questions about his looks or the lifeboat location at any time, but selecting "I'll be going." ends the conversation.
- 13Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat:
- Return to the sign that pointed to the exit.
- 14Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 15Collect Evidence:
- TITANIA: Inspect the Lifeboat Name.
- 16Diving Helmet: Rotate the helmet and examine the front faceplate. Be aware that looking at the helmet drains sanity.
- 17Albert Throgmorton's will: This letter is on one of the seats inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb into the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect it.
- 18Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips

- Collecting all key evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP.
- Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and unlocks an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
