Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2, detailing key evidence, optional investigations, and character interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1Charon Ship Investigation: Collect key evidence including your belongings, the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and your Pistol. Examine the Pistol by rotating it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle and pressing X. Additional evidence includes a photo of the mounted fish (use the Camera) and a flyer on a desk. Lootable objects like lockers can be repeatedly searched for ammo and crafting materials.
- 2Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: After leaving the ship, speak with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance are 'About my problem,' 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?,' 'I need somewhere to stay,' 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?,' and 'Goodbye.' Choosing these options progresses the story and locks out further dialogue branches.
- 3Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Ascend the stairs to initiate a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 4Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: Key dialogue options to advance include 'What happened to your son?,' 'Who are the Innsmouthers?,' 'What do you know about the visions?,' 'I can try to find Albert,' 'Tell me more about the case,' and 'I'll be going.'
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- Collect additional evidence: Inspect the 'TITANIA' nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate, be mindful of sanity drain), and find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. Climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to access some items.
- Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
- Collecting all evidence in a location grants an additional 140 XP.
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use this sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
- Consider investing the free Skill Point (if applicable) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area, allowing for repeated collection of ammo and crafting materials.
- The Lifeboat Titania is an optional investigation that provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but is not required for case progression.
