Walkthrough
- 1Examine your belongings on the table (Key Evidence). This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, examine its handle until an eyeball symbol appears and press X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Use the Camera to take a photo of the trophy fish mounted on the wall (Additional Evidence).
- 3Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of the table (Additional Evidence).
- 4Loot the locker to the right of the desk.
- 5Exit the boat by climbing the dock (Triangle).
- 6Speak with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance are: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye.".
- 7Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign.
- 8Speak with Robert Throgmorton. Key dialogue options to advance are: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.".
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea.
- Find the lifeboat beyond police barricades.
- Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA" (Additional Evidence).
- Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to search the front faceplate (Additional Evidence). Be aware that looking at the helmet drains sanity.
- Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats (Additional Evidence). You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle).
- Returning Albert's Will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips
- Collecting all evidence in a location before finishing a case rewards an additional 140 XP.
- The Submachine Gun (DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition quickly; save it for critical moments.
- The Absolute Clarity Mind skill (DLC) provides a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects (marked with a symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. More loot often indicates a more dangerous area.
- Optional conversations provide world-building but do not affect game progression. Be mindful of dialogue choices that close off other branches.
- The Lifeboat Titania is an optional investigation that provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but its evidence is not required for the main case.
