Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission. Find all key evidence, complete optional objectives, and learn about the 'Charon' ship and its secrets.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On the 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (from the briefcase), your Camera, and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, examine its handle by rotating it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears, then press X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note that your gun is not loaded and requires reloading (hold L1 for weapon wheel, select gun, press Square).
  2. 2
Optional Evidence on Ship: Take a photo of the mounted fish with your camera (Photo of a trophy plate). Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Flyer).
  3. 3
Lootables: A locker is located to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area. They provide ammunition and crafting materials.
  4. 4
Speak with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by climbing the dock (Triangle). You will automatically start a conversation. To advance, select: "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Choosing these options locks out other dialogue branches.
  5. 5
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign. Turn right as indicated by the sign. Go up the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Optional Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and "I'll be going." Other dialogue options are optional.
  7. 7
Optional: Titania Lifeboat Investigation: Return to the sign with directions. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional and does not add to your casebook, but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  8. 8
Evidence at Titania Lifeboat: Inspect the Lifeboat Name ('TITANIA'). Rotate the Diving Helmet and search its front faceplate. Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside the lifeboat (climb inside using Triangle). Be cautious, as looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.
  9. 9
Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding the will, return to Robert Throgmorton to give him the will and unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
  • Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after resetting the area.
  • The Titania Lifeboat investigation is optional but recommended for the extra XP and lore.
Completing the main objectives will advance the story. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Collecting all evidence in a location before finishing a case can yield an additional 140 XP. If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you start with a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. You may also receive a Skill Point.
