    The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect the following key evidence:
    • Your belongings on the table (required to leave).

    Letter from J. van der Berg: Found by taking the briefcase.

    Camera: A usable item to take pictures for evidence.

    Pistol: Pick it up, rotate until the "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: The gun is not loaded and must be reloaded.

    Additional Evidence on the Ship:
    • Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera on the strange fish mounted on the wall.

    Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.

    Lootables: Search lockers and other lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) for ammunition and crafting materials. These can be looted repeatedly.

    Exit the Boat: Climb onto the dock using Triangle.

    Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: You will automatically start a conversation. Choose dialogue options to progress: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Note that some dialogue choices lock out others.

    Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit. Go up the stairs to start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.

    Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: Choose dialogue options to advance: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.". Asking about the lifeboat's location is optional and won't be repeated.

    Optional: Lifeboat Titania Investigation: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit, go left down a path, and then left toward the sea. Find the lifeboat beyond police barricades.
    • TITANIA: Inspect the Lifeboat Name.

    Diving Helmet: Rotate and examine the front faceplate. Be aware that looking at it drains sanity.

    Albert Throgmorton's will: Found on one of the lifeboat seats.

    Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding the will, return to Robert to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use the initial clip sparingly as ammo is scarce.
  • Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
