Complete walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission. Find key evidence on the 'Charon' ship, speak with Johannes van der Berg and Robert Throgmorton, and discover the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation.
Walkthrough
- 1On the 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect the following key evidence:
- Your belongings on the table (required to leave).
- 2Letter from J. van der Berg: Found within the briefcase.
- 3Camera: A usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
- 4Pistol: Pick it up, rotate until the 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 5Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera to photograph the fish mounted on the wall.
- 6Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk.
- 7Speak with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle). Initiate a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: 'About my problem.', 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?', 'I need somewhere to stay.', 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?', 'Goodbye.'.
- 8Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Climb the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select: 'What happened to your son?', 'Who are the Innsmouthers?', 'What do you know about the visions?', 'I can try to find Albert.', 'Tell me more about the case.', 'I'll be going.'.
- 9Optional: Titania Lifeboat (Optional Investigation): Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. Collect the following additional evidence:
- TITANIA: Inspect the Lifeboat Name.
- 10Diving Helmet: Rotate and search the front faceplate. Be mindful of sanity drain while examining.
- 11Albert Throgmorton's will: Located on one of the seats.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds are included with the Necronomicon Edition or DLC packs. Use its initial clip sparingly as ammo is scarce.
- Consider investing the free Skill Point (if DLC is owned) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Their contents reset upon leaving and returning to the area. Be cautious, as abundant loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
- When examining the Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat, do not hold it for too long to avoid sanity drain.
- Progression to the next stage of the main quest.
- Optional: 140 XP for completing the Titania Lifeboat investigation.
- Optional: Additional dialogue with Robert Throgmorton.
