Complete walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2, covering key evidence, optional investigations, and character interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin on the 'Charon' ship. Collect your Key Evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To examine the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Collect Additional Evidence: use the camera to photograph the Photo of a trophy plate (the strange fish on the wall) and examine the Flyer on the desk.
- 3Loot the Locker to the right of the desk for random ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock (press Triangle). Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye.". Note that selecting optional dialogue branches will lock you out of others.
- 5Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right towards the bar and exit. Ascend the stairs to begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.".
- 6Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania. Return to the sign and go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 7In the lifeboat, collect Additional Evidence: inspect the TITANIA nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; be mindful of sanity drain), and find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. You may need to climb into the lifeboat (Triangle).
- 8Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ACP rounds. Use this sparingly as ammo is scarce.
- Consider investing a Skill Point into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Reload your pistol by equipping it (hold L1, select weapon, press Square) and then pressing Square.
- Lootable objects provide endless supplies of ammo and crafting materials.
- The optional Lifeboat Titania investigation grants an additional 140 XP.
Completing the main objectives progresses the story. Optional investigations yield bonus XP and lore.
