The boat you arrive on in the city is considered your first investigation location in The Sinking City 2. You must collect a certain amount of evidence before you can proceed. Collecting all evidence in a location grants an additional 140 XP.

Walkthrough

Collect your belongings from the table. This is key evidence required to leave the ship.
  2. 2
Pick up the briefcase to obtain the Letter from J. van der Berg.
  3. 3
Take the Camera, a usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
  4. 4
To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  5. 5
Equip your gun by holding L1 and selecting it from the weapon wheel, then press Square to reload.
  6. 6
Use your camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall for Additional Evidence.
  7. 7
Examine the Flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings for more Additional Evidence.
  8. 8
Search the Locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
Tips
  • If you purchased the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you will receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. This weapon consumes ammunition quickly.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% bonus XP gain.
  • Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, provide ammunition and crafting materials and can be repeatedly looted. The amount of loot may indicate the danger level of the area.
