Complete walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence on the Charon ship, interact with NPCs, and explore the optional Titania Lifeboat.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Begin on the 'Charon' ship, your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings on the table, the Letter from J. van der Berg (found in the briefcase), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  2. 2
Reload your gun by holding L1 to bring up the weapon wheel and selecting the gun, then press Square to reload.
  3. 3
Collect additional evidence: use your Camera to photograph the mounted fish trophy on the wall, and examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings table.
  4. 4
Loot the locker to the right of the desk for randomized ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  5. 5
Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle).
  6. 6
Speak with Johannes van der Berg on the dock. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Note that choosing "I need somewhere to stay." locks out other dialogue branches.
  7. 7
Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.
  8. 8
Climb the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Other branches can be explored before selecting "I'll be going.".
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
  • Consider putting a free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects provide ammunition and crafting materials and can be looted repeatedly after resetting. Be cautious, as large amounts of loot may indicate a dangerous area.

Collecting all key evidence on the ship grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also grants 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
