Learn how to find and deduce all key evidence in The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' walkthrough. Master investigations and uncover the truth.
Walkthrough
- 1Collect Your Belongings: On the ship, take your briefcase from the table. This also grants you the 'Letter from J. van der Berg'.
- 2Obtain the Camera: Pick up the Camera from the table.
- 3Examine the Pistol: Pick up the Pistol, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press 'X' to examine it. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 4Photograph the Fish: Use your Camera to take a picture of the mounted fish on the wall.
- 5Examine the Flyer: Look at the flyer on the desk to the left of the table.
- 6Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for random ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents reset upon leaving and returning to the area.
- 7Exit the Ship: Climb onto the dock using the 'Triangle' button.
- 8Speak with Johannes van der Berg: Engage in conversation with him. Select dialogue options to advance the main story: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing certain options locks out others.
- 9Proceed to Robert Throgmorton: Follow the pier north and turn right at the sign towards the bar/exit.
- 10Speak with Robert Throgmorton: Engage in conversation. To advance the main story, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.". Optional questions can be asked, but selecting "I'll be going." ends the conversation.
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Location: Return to the sign, go left down a path, and turn left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- Inspect Lifeboat Name: Examine the 'TITANIA' inscription.
- Examine Diving Helmet: Rotate the helmet and search the front faceplate. Be quick, as prolonged examination drains sanity.
- Collect Albert Throgmorton's Will: Find the letter on one of the lifeboat seats. Climb inside the lifeboat using 'Triangle' to collect it.
- Return to Robert Throgmorton: Give him his son's will to unlock an additional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds (if owned via DLC) are powerful but consume ammo quickly; save them for critical moments.
- Consider investing the free Skill Point (if applicable) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for resources.
- The Titania Lifeboat investigation is optional but provides extra XP and lore.
Collecting all key evidence in a location before concluding the case grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation provides further XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
