    The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all key evidence: your belongings on the table, the Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase), and the Camera. To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (L1 for weapon wheel, then Square).

    Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to take a photo of the Photo of a trophy plate (fish on the wall). Examine the Flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.

    Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.

    Exit the Boat: Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle.

    Johannes van der Berg: Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye." Choosing these options will lock out other dialogue branches.

    Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.

    Robert Throgmorton Conversation: To advance, select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going." Other dialogue options are optional.

    Optional: Lifeboat Titania: Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.

    Titania Lifeboat Evidence: Inspect the Lifeboat Name (TITANIA). Rotate the Diving Helmet and examine the front faceplate. Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside the lifeboat. Be aware that looking at the diving helmet for too long will drain your sanity.

    Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.

  • If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use these sparingly as they are consumed quickly.
