Walkthrough
  1. 1
Key Evidence on the "Charon" Ship: Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera (essential for taking pictures as evidence), and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, examine it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle and press X. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  2. 2
Additional Evidence on the "Charon" Ship: Use your camera to photograph the strange fish mounted on the wall. Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
  3. 3
Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area, providing continuous access to ammunition and crafting materials.
  4. 4
Exit the Ship and Speak to Johannes van der Berg: Climb onto the dock using Triangle. Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To progress, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Note that choosing specific dialogue options will lock out others.
  5. 5
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit. Ascend the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select the following dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Similar to the previous conversation, certain choices will close off other dialogue branches.
  7. 7
Optional: Lifeboat Titania Investigation: If you ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat, return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. Beyond police barricades, you'll find the lifeboat. This is an optional area that does not add to your casebook but rewards 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  8. 8
Evidence in Lifeboat Titania: Inspect the lifeboat name "TITANIA". Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to find a faceplate to search. Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside the lifeboat. Be aware that looking at the diving helmet will slowly drain your sanity.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition rapidly. Save its clip for critical moments.
  • Consider investing your first Skill Point into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Reloading your pistol is done by equipping it via the weapon wheel (hold L1) and pressing Square.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammo and crafting materials. Be cautious, as large amounts of loot may indicate nearby danger.
  • The optional Lifeboat Titania investigation provides extra XP and lore but is not required for main story progression.
