Navigate the 'A Frosty Welcome' quest in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence on the Charon ship, interact with NPCs like Johannes van der Berg and Robert Throgmorton, and discover optional investigations.
Walkthrough
- 1On the Charon Ship: Collect your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol (examine the handle by rotating it until an eyeball symbol appears and press X).
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use the Camera to photograph the trophy fish on the wall. Examine the flyer on the desk.
- 3Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents reset upon leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Speak with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by climbing the dock (Triangle). Choose dialogue options: "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Note that selecting "I need somewhere to stay" locks out other dialogue branches.
- 5Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit. Ascend the stairs to automatically start a conversation.
- 6Speak with Robert Throgmorton: Choose dialogue options to advance: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and finally "I'll be going." Other questions can be asked optionally.
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Access: From the sign pointing to the exit, go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- Evidence: Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA." Rotate the Diving Helmet and search its front faceplate (be mindful of sanity drain). Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle).
- Reward: Completing this optional investigation grants 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Tips
- If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use this weapon sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
- Consider putting any bonus Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Reload your pistol by equipping it (hold L1, select weapon, press Square) before firing.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
