Complete walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's Oldgrove (Oldgrove East) (2) section. Find all key evidence, complete optional tasks, and learn about NPC interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1On the "Charon" Ship: Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (by taking the briefcase), the Camera, and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (hold L1, select gun, press Square).
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to take a photo of the strange fish mounted on the wall (Photo of a trophy plate). Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Flyer). Search the locker to the right of the desk for random ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 3Exit the Boat: Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle.
- 4Speak to Johannes van der Berg: Engage in conversation. To advance the game, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Choosing these options locks out other dialogue branches.
- 5Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Turn right and go up the stairs to start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 6Speak to Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.". Other dialogue options are optional.
- 7Optional: Investigate the Lifeboat Titania: Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 8Evidence in Lifeboat: Inspect the lifeboat name (TITANIA). Rotate the Diving Helmet and search its front faceplate. Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle). Looking at the diving helmet for too long will drain your sanity.
- 9Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
- Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) provide randomized ammunition and crafting materials and can be looted repeatedly after they reset. Areas with more loot may indicate greater danger.
- The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional but rewards 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
