Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission. Find all key evidence, complete optional objectives, and learn about character interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1The 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings on the table (briefcase, Letter from J. van der Berg), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You'll receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (L1 for weapon wheel, Square to reload).
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the trophy plate (fish on the wall) and examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 3Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Exit the Boat & Speak to Johannes van der Berg: Climb onto the dock (Triangle). Choose dialogue options: 'About my problem,' 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?,' 'I need somewhere to stay,' 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?,' and finally 'Goodbye.' Selecting 'I need somewhere to stay' locks out other dialogue branches.
- 5Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Key dialogue options to advance the game include: 'What happened to your son?,' 'Who are the Innsmouthers?,' 'What do you know about the visions?,' 'I can try to find Albert,' 'Tell me more about the case,' and 'I'll be going.'
- 6Optional: Lifeboat Titania: Return to the pier sign, go left down a path, and turn left towards the sea. Find the lifeboat beyond police barricades. Collect additional evidence: Inspect the 'TITANIA' nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate – be mindful of sanity drain), and pick up 'Albert Throgmorton's will' from a seat. You need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) for some evidence.
- 7Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ACP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
- Consider putting your starting Skill Point into 'Absolute Clarity' for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be searched repeatedly and reset after leaving the area.
- The Titania Lifeboat investigation is optional but rewards 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet in the lifeboat, as it drains sanity.
Completing the 'Charon' ship evidence collection and the main dialogue with Robert Throgmorton progresses the story. The optional 'Titania Lifeboat' investigation provides an additional 140 XP and an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
