Complete walkthrough for Salvation Harbor East (3) in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence, optional items, and navigate conversations with NPCs to progress.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all key evidence to receive bonus XP.
    • Key Evidence: Your belongings on the table (briefcase), Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained with briefcase), Camera (examine by rotating until an "eyeball" symbol appears and pressing X), Pistol (examine by rotating until an "eyeball" symbol appears and pressing X). You also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun before firing.
  2. 2
Additional Evidence: Photo of a trophy plate (use camera on the fish mounted on the wall), Flyer (examine the flyer on the desk).
  3. 3
Lootables: Search lockers and other lootable objects for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset when you leave and return to the area.
  4. 4
Exiting the Boat and Speaking to Johannes van der Berg: Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle. Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the following dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing specific dialogue options will lock out others.
  5. 5
Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance the game, select the following dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.".
  6. 6
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional but rewards 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
    • Additional Evidence: Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA", examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate, be quick as sanity drains), and find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect evidence.
  7. 7
Completing Robert's Request: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton and give him the will to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun (if you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition quickly; save its clip for special occasions.
  • Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable from DLC) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% bonus XP.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted for materials and ammo. More valuable loot often indicates a more dangerous area.
  • When examining the Diving Helmet in the Titania Lifeboat, be mindful of your sanity draining if you hold it for too long.
  • Bonus XP for collecting all key evidence on the "Charon" ship.
  • Bonus XP for completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation.
  • Access to additional conversations with NPCs.
