Complete walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's Coverside Central (8) section. Find all evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the mysteries of this critical area.
Walkthrough
- 1The 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, and the Camera. To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun by holding L1, selecting the gun, and pressing Square.
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the trophy plate (a strange fish mounted on the wall). Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings. Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
- 3Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock (Triangle). Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally, "Goodbye.". Note that choosing these options will lock out other dialogue branches.
- 4Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit. As you ascend the stairs, you will automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 5Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.". Other dialogue options are optional.
- 6Optional: Titania Lifeboat (Robert's Request): To investigate the lifeboat, return to the sign, go left down a path, and then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. Collect the additional evidence: inspect the 'TITANIA' name on the Lifeboat, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and look at the front faceplate, but don't hold it too long as it drains sanity), and pick up Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. Climbing inside the lifeboat (Triangle) may be necessary. This optional investigation grants 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or associated DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use these sparingly as they deplete quickly.
- Consider investing your first Skill Point into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area, allowing for repeated collection of materials and ammunition.
- The Titania Lifeboat investigation is optional but rewards extra XP and dialogue.
