A comprehensive walkthrough for 'Deal with the Devil' in The Sinking City 2, covering all objectives, evidence, and tips to help you progress through the game.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin by collecting your belongings from the table on the ship. This includes your Pistol, Camera, and a Letter from J. van der Berg.
- 2Examine the Pistol by rotating it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle and pressing X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 3Use your Camera to take a photo of the mounted fish on the wall (Additional Evidence).
- 4Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Additional Evidence).
- 5Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock using Triangle.
- 6Speak with Johannes van der Berg. Select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Note that choosing specific dialogue options can lock out others.
- 7Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.
- 8Climb the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.".
- 9Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania
- 10Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be beyond police barricades.
- 11Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA".
- 12Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to search the front faceplate. Be mindful of sanity drain.
- 13Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from one of the seats in the lifeboat.
- 14Return to Robert Throgmorton and give him his son's will to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition quickly. Save its clip for critical moments.
- Consider investing the free Skill Point (if owned via DLC) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Their contents reset when you leave and return to the area.
- Be cautious, as areas with more lootable containers may indicate a higher concentration of dangerous enemies.
- The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional but rewards extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- Do not hold the diving helmet for too long during the optional investigation, as it can drain your sanity.
