Navigate the treacherous "District (44)" in The Sinking City 2. This comprehensive guide covers all objectives, key evidence, and optional tasks to help you survive and uncover the city's dark secrets.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin on the "Charon" ship, which serves as your first investigation location. Collect all key evidence: your belongings on the table (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Collect additional evidence: use the Camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall, and examine the flyer on the desk.
- 3Loot the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable objects can be reset and re-looted.
- 4Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle).
- 5Converse with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Choosing "I need somewhere to stay" locks out optional dialogue branches.
- 6Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Turn right towards the exit.
- 7As you ascend the stairs, you will automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance the game, select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and finally "I'll be going." Other dialogue options are optional.
Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania
- Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be beyond police barricades.
- Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA."
- Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to look at the front faceplate and search. Be aware that prolonged examination drains sanity.
- Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect evidence.
- Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
- Consider putting a gifted Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Reload your equipped gun by holding L1 to open the weapon wheel, selecting the gun, and pressing Square.
- Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) provide randomized ammunition and crafting materials and can be re-looted after respawning. Areas with more loot may indicate greater danger.
