Complete walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's "Asylum (4)" mission. Find all evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the truth.
Walkthrough
- 1The mission begins with you needing to collect your belongings from a table.
- 2Key evidence includes your belongings, the Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase), the Camera, and your Pistol.
- 3To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 4Reloading your gun is done by equipping it via the weapon wheel (hold L1) and pressing Square.
- 5Additional evidence can be found: a Photo of a trophy plate (take a picture of the fish with your camera) and a Flyer (examine the one on the desk).
- 6Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
- 7After collecting evidence, exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (press Triangle).
- 8You will automatically start a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance the game are: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye.". Choosing these options will progress the main story.
- 9Proceed north along the pier to find a sign. Turn right towards the exit and go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 10Key dialogue options with Robert Throgmorton to advance the game are: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.".
- 11An optional investigation involves the Titania Lifeboat. Return to the sign, go left down a path, and then left towards the sea.
- 12Evidence in the Titania Lifeboat includes inspecting the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA", examining the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and finding Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect some items. Be cautious as looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.
- 13Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition quickly; save its initial clip for important moments.
- Consider putting the free Skill Point (if received via DLC) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area, allowing for repeated farming of materials and ammo.
- Be mindful of the sanity drain when examining the diving helmet in the Titania Lifeboat.
