Learn how to collect key evidence on the Charon ship in The Sinking City 2, including your belongings, a letter, a camera, and a pistol, to progress.
Walkthrough
- 1On the Charon ship, your first investigation location, collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg and the Camera.
- 2To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note that your gun is not loaded and must be reloaded (L1 for weapon wheel, then Square) before use.
- 3Use the Camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall for Additional Evidence.
- 4Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of the table for another piece of Additional Evidence.
- 5Loot the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 6After collecting the key evidence, you can exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle).
- 7Speak with Johannes van der Berg on the dock. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing certain dialogue options will lock out others.
- 8Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit.
- 9Speak with Robert Throgmorton upstairs. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.". Again, some dialogue choices will lock out others.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
- Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials. Be cautious, as containers with more loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
- The Lifeboat Titania is an optional investigation location. If you choose to investigate it, you can find the Lifeboat Name, a Diving Helmet (be mindful of sanity drain while examining), and Albert Throgmorton's will. Completing this optional investigation grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Collecting all key evidence on the Charon ship allows you to progress the story. Optional investigations may yield additional XP and lore.
