Look for a letter on the desk addressed to Charles Reed. This kicks off the 'Mystic Tomes' side case, assuming you have the Worshippers of the Necronomicon DLC. Read that letter, and you'll find another one across the hall in what used to be the Book Collector's room. This second letter will give you 7 notes, each pointing to a different mystical book hidden around Oakmont. You'll want to grab these notes – they're key to finding the books. The notes themselves are scattered around this hotel room: one on the bulletin board, one on a chair, one by the mattress, two on a table, one on the desk, and one on the wall near the desk. Make sure you collect all 7 notes before you start hunting for the books themselves!
