'Charon' Ship Investigation: As your first investigation location, collect all key evidence. This includes your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, examine its handle until an 'eyeball' symbol appears and press X.

Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the mounted fish (Photo of a trophy plate) and examine the flyer on the desk (Flyer).

Lootables: Search lockers and other lootable objects for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset when you leave and return to the area.

Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: After leaving the ship, speak with Johannes van der Berg. Key dialogue options to advance the game are: 'About my problem,' 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?,' 'I need somewhere to stay,' 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?,' and 'Goodbye.' Choosing these options will lock out other dialogue branches.

Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit. You will automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton as you go up the stairs.

Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: Key dialogue options to advance the game include: 'What happened to your son?,' 'Who are the Innsmouthers?,' 'What do you know about the visions?,' 'I can try to find Albert,' 'Tell me more about the case,' and 'I'll be going.' Asking about the lifeboat's location is optional and will not be repeated.

Optional: Titania Lifeboat Investigation: Return to the sign pointing to the exit, then go left down a path and left towards the sea. You'll find the lifeboat beyond police barricades. Collect the additional evidence: the Lifeboat Name ('TITANIA'), the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and Albert Throgmorton's will. Be cautious as looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.

Completing Robert's Request: After finding Albert's will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
