Follow our detailed walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's Coverside West (17) section, guiding you through investigations, key evidence, and optional objectives for maximum rewards.
Walkthrough
- 1Charon Ship Investigation:
- Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase), the Camera, and your Pistol.
- 2To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until the "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note that your gun is not loaded and requires reloading (hold L1 for weapon wheel, press Square).
- 3Optional Evidence: Use your camera to take a picture of the mounted fish trophy on the wall (Photo of a trophy plate).
- 4Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Flyer).
- 5Loot the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock using Triangle and speak with Johannes van der Berg. Choose dialogue options to advance the game, such as "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Be aware that selecting certain options closes off other dialogue branches.
- Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right and go up the stairs to speak with Robert Throgmorton. To advance the game, select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and "I'll be going."
- Return to the sign with directions. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- Inspect the Lifeboat Name (TITANIA).
- Examine the Diving Helmet. Rotate it and look for the front faceplate to search. Be aware that prolonged examination drains sanity.
- Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the lifeboat seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat using Triangle.
- Finding the will unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Completing this optional investigation grants an additional 140 XP.
