Complete walkthrough for Coverside West (3) in The Sinking City 2, detailing all key evidence, optional objectives, and tips for progression.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Charon Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all key evidence: your belongings on the table (briefcase, Letter from J. van der Berg, Camera, Pistol). To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. You must take your belongings before the ship captain allows you to leave.
  2. 2
Optional Conversations: After collecting your belongings, you will automatically speak with Johannes van der Berg. Choose dialogue options to learn about the world. To advance, select "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Be aware that selecting "I need somewhere to stay" closes off other dialogue branches.
  3. 3
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Turn right and go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  4. 4
Robert Throgmorton Conversation: Engage in conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance the game, select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and "I'll be going." Optional questions can be asked, but selecting "I'll be going" ends the conversation permanently.
  5. 5
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat: Robert Throgmorton may mention the lifeboat where his son was found. Return to the sign pointing to the exit, go left down a path, and turn left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional and does not add to your casebook but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Titania Lifeboat Evidence: Inspect the "TITANIA" name on the Lifeboat. Examine the "Diving Helmet" by rotating it and looking at the front faceplate. Collect "Albert Throgmorton's will" from a seat inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb inside (Triangle) to collect some evidence. Be cautious, as looking at the diving helmet for too long will drain your sanity.
  7. 7
Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • If you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. This gun consumes bullets rapidly; save its initial clip for special occasions.
  • Consider putting your starting Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) can be searched repeatedly for ammunition and crafting materials. They reset if you leave and return to the area. More valuable loot often indicates a more dangerous area.
  • When examining the Pistol, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle before pressing X.
  • To reload your gun, equip it via the weapon wheel (hold L1) and press Square.
  • Use your Camera to take pictures of items like the fish mounted on the wall for evidence.
  • Climb to higher areas by pressing Triangle.
  • 140 XP for collecting all key evidence on the "Charon" Ship.
  • 140 XP for completing the optional "Titania Lifeboat" investigation.
  • Access to additional dialogue with NPCs.
  • Potential for extra ammunition and crafting materials from lootable objects.
