Navigate the early challenges of The Sinking City 2 with our "Suspected newcomer" guide. Learn about essential items, evidence collection, and initial NPC interactions to get your investigation started.
Walkthrough
- 1The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all key evidence before leaving.
- 2Key Evidence: Your belongings (briefcase), Letter from J. van der Berg, Camera, and Pistol.
- 3Pistol Collection: Pick up the pistol, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 4Reloading: Equip your gun via the weapon wheel (hold L1) and press Square to reload.
- 5Additional Evidence: Photograph the mounted fish with your camera and examine the flyer on the desk.
- 6Lootables: Search lockers and other lootable objects for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset upon returning to the area.
- 7Exiting the Boat: Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle.
- 8Johannes van der Berg Conversation: Select dialogue options to progress: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", "Goodbye.". Choosing "Goodbye" ends the conversation permanently.
- 9Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign.
- 10Robert Throgmorton Conversation: Select dialogue options to progress: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", "I'll be going.". Choosing "I'll be going." ends the conversation permanently.
- 11Optional: Lifeboat Titania Investigation: Return to the sign, go left down a path, and turn left towards the sea.
- 12Evidence: Inspect the "TITANIA" nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat.
- 13Note: Looking at the diving helmet for too long will drain your sanity.
- 14Reward: Extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton if you return his son's will.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use these sparingly as they consume ammo quickly.
- Consider investing an early Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- The Lifeboat Titania is an optional investigation that provides extra XP and lore but is not required for main story progression.
