Navigate Salvation Harbor West in The Sinking City 2. This guide covers key evidence, optional investigations, and interactions with Johannes van der Berg and Robert Throgmorton.
Walkthrough
- 1On the "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, and the Camera. Examine the Pistol by picking it up, rotating it, and pressing X on the handle symbol. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use the Camera to photograph the trophy plate (fish) on the wall. Examine the flyer on the desk.
- 3Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Speak with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by pressing Triangle to climb onto the dock. Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye.". Note that once you say goodbye, you cannot re-initiate other conversation branches.
- 5Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right and go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 6Speak with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.". You can ask optional questions about his looks and the lifeboat's location before selecting "I'll be going.".
- 7Optional: Lifeboat Titania Investigation: Return to the sign with directions. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is an optional investigation site that provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 8Evidence at Lifeboat Titania: Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA". Rotate the Diving Helmet and search its front faceplate. Collect "Albert Throgmorton's will" from a seat. Note that looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.
- 9Complete Optional Investigation: After finding the will, return to Robert Throgmorton to give him the will and unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) consumes bullets quickly; save its initial clip for a special occasion.
- Consider putting the free Skill Point (if obtained via DLC) into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after they reset. Higher value lootables may indicate a more dangerous area.
- The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional and does not add to your casebook, but rewards extra XP and an additional conversation.
- Do not hold the diving helmet for too long during the Lifeboat Titania investigation, as it drains sanity.
- Optional: 140 XP for clearing the Lifeboat Titania investigation site.
- Optional: An additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton after returning his son's will.
