Navigate the complexities of 'A Delicate Matter' in The Sinking City 2. This guide provides a walkthrough, tips, and rewards to help you progress through the game.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Begin by collecting your belongings from the table. This includes your briefcase, which contains the Letter from J. van der Berg, your Camera, and your Pistol.
  2. 2
To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your weapon before use.
  3. 3
Use your Camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall for additional evidence.
  4. 4
Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings for more optional evidence.
  5. 5
Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock using Triangle.
  6. 6
Speak with Johannes van der Berg. Choose dialogue options that advance the conversation, such as "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally, "Goodbye."
  7. 7
Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the bar and exit.
  8. 8
Climb the stairs to initiate a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  9. 9
To advance the game, select dialogue options like "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and then "I'll be going."
  10. 10
    Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania
  11. 11
Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be beyond police barricades.
  12. 12
    Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA."
  13. 13
Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to find a hidden detail on the front faceplate. Be mindful of your sanity draining while examining it.
  14. 14
Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats inside the lifeboat. Climb inside using Triangle if necessary.
  15. 15
After finding the will, you can return to Robert Throgmorton to give him his son's will, unlocking an optional conversation.
Tips
  • Collecting all evidence in a location before concluding a case can yield an additional 140 XP.
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or its DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ACP rounds. Use this weapon sparingly as it consumes ammunition quickly.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials. Be cautious, as abundant loot may indicate a dangerous area.
  • The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional but rewards extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  • XP for collected evidence.
  • Additional XP for completing optional objectives.
  • Access to further conversations with NPCs.
