Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2, detailing key evidence, optional investigations, and NPC interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin on the 'Charon' ship, your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, and the Camera.
- 2To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until the 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (hold L1, select weapon, press Square).
- 3Collect additional evidence: photograph the mounted fish with your camera and examine the flyer on the desk.
- 4Lootable objects (marked with a symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
- 5Exit the boat by pressing Triangle to climb onto the dock.
- 6Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye." Choosing these options will lock out other dialogue branches.
- 7Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Turn right towards the exit.
- 8As you ascend the stairs, you will begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and "I'll be going." Other dialogue options are optional.
- 9Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania
- 10Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 11Collect additional evidence in the lifeboat: inspect the 'TITANIA' name, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate, be mindful of sanity drain), and pick up 'Albert Throgmorton's will' from a seat. You may need to press Triangle to climb inside.
- 12Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
- Collecting all evidence in a location before finishing a case grants an additional 140 XP.
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use its initial clip sparingly as ammo is scarce.
- Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area.
- The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional, provides no casebook entries, but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
