Complete the 'A Frosty Welcome' quest in The Sinking City 2 by gathering all key evidence on the Charon ship and making crucial dialogue choices.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On the Charon Ship: Collect your key evidence: your belongings from the table (this includes the briefcase, which contains the Letter from J. van der Berg), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the pistol, examine its handle until an eyeball symbol appears and press X. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  2. 2
Optional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the trophy plate (a strange fish on the wall) and examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
  3. 3
Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for randomized ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents reset if you leave and return to the area.
  4. 4
Speak with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock (Triangle). Engage in conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To progress, select the following dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally, "Goodbye.". Note that choosing "I need somewhere to stay" locks out other dialogue branches.
  5. 5
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier until you reach a sign. Turn right towards the bar and exit. Climb the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  6. 6
Speak with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select these dialogue options: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.". Other optional questions can be asked before selecting "I'll be going.".
  7. 7
Optional: Titania Lifeboat: If you ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat, return to the sign and go left down a path, then left towards the sea. You'll find the lifeboat past police barricades. This is an optional investigation that does not add to your casebook but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  8. 8
Evidence at Titania Lifeboat: Inspect the lifeboat name "TITANIA". Rotate the Diving Helmet and search its front faceplate. Pick up Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside the lifeboat (you may need to climb inside using Triangle). Be aware that looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.
  9. 9
Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's will, return to Robert Throgmorton to give him the will and unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds (if you have the Necronomicon Edition or DLC) are powerful but consume ammunition quickly. Save them for important encounters.
  • Consider investing a Skill Point into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus, allowing for faster progression.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Their contents reset upon leaving and returning to the area.
  • Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet at the Titania Lifeboat, as it drains your sanity.
  • Completion of 'A Frosty Welcome' questline.
  • Potential bonus XP for collecting all evidence on the Charon ship (140 XP).
  • Potential bonus XP for clearing the Titania Lifeboat investigation site (140 XP).
  • Access to optional conversations with NPCs.
