Walkthrough
- 1What is Treasure? Treasures are transportable items that can be found, carried, and sold to Trading Companies in exchange for Currencies, Reputation, and Emissary Value.
- 2Mechanics: Treasure is the primary source of Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value. Each Trading Company has Representatives at Outposts who accept specific types of Treasure. Voyages can be obtained from these Representatives to embark on quests for treasure. Random treasure can be found on islands, in barrels, shipwrecks, vaults, or taken by enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, or the Kraken. Treasure items emit a colored glint or glow for easy spotting.
- 3Carrying Treasure: Treasure must be carried by hand to the respective Company Representative. A pirate can only carry one item at a time and cannot fight or use equipment while carrying it. Harpoons can retrieve treasure from afar. Smaller items can be placed in Container Chests (holding up to 3 items) to hide their glow and simplify transport. Treasure left on land remains, but treasure dropped in water sinks after about 5 minutes (except Trade Good Crates).
- 4Emissary Value: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary and picking up relevant treasure grants Emissary Grade Reputation. Additional Reputation is gained when the treasure is put on the ship. These increases are awarded only upon the first claim of a treasure item.
- 5Types of Treasure: Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company that purchases them. The three main companies are the Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, and Merchant Alliance. Within these, treasures can be Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.
- 6Gold Hoarders Treasure: These items are sold to the Gold Hoarders for Gold and Reputation. They yield increased rewards and Emissary Value when sold by Gold Hoarder Emissaries.
- 7Treasure Chests: Unbreakable, locked chests sold to the Gold Hoarders. Found via Treasure Maps, Riddle Maps, Ancient Vaults, or randomly. Emit a white glint. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen, Valuable, and Cursed Treasure Chests.
- 8Artefacts: Smaller items found on their own, in chests, or in Fortress Vaults. Emit a golden glint. Types include Regular Artefacts (trinkets, containers, ornaments made of metal and gems).
