Think of it like this: everyone's got a job to do! It's a good idea to figure out who's doing what, especially if you're playing with Open Crews where players might join or leave. Some roles you might want to consider are: helmsman (steering the ship), captain (overall command), navigator (plotting the course), lookout (spotting trouble or opportunities), repairman (patching up holes), cannoneer (firing the cannons), or even someone to cause a bit of chaos on an enemy ship. When you first set sail, you'll be choosing between a Sloop (great for 1-2 players), a Brigantine (good for 1-3 players), or a Galleon (for up to 4 players). Each ship has its own strengths, but no matter which you pick, teamwork is key. Don't be afraid to communicate and assign tasks so you don't end up with everyone trying to steer at once or, worse, no one steering at all!
