The Kraken's Fall — Sea of Thieves Walkthrough

Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found randomly on islands, in shipwrecks, floating in barrels, within forts, or taken by enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, or the Kraken. Treasure items emit a colored glint or glow, making them visible from afar.

Carrying Treasure: Each treasure item must be carried by hand. While carrying treasure, a pirate cannot fight or use equipment. The treasure must be dropped to regain full control. Harpoons can retrieve treasure from a distance. Smaller items can be stored in Container Chests, which hold up to 3 items and hide their glow.

Treasure Persistence: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates which float longer.

Emissary Value: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary grants Emissary Grade Reputation when picking up relevant treasure. This bonus increases if the treasure is placed on the ship and is awarded the first time a treasure item is claimed.

Trading Companies: Each Trading Company values specific types of treasure and has representatives at every Outpost. Selling treasure to the relevant company yields Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value. Companies also offer Voyages, which are quests leading to treasure.

Types of Treasure: Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company they are sold to: Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, and Merchant Alliance. Within these, they can be Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.

Gold Hoarders Treasure: This category includes Treasure Chests and Artefacts.

Treasure Chests: These are locked chests sold to the Gold Hoarders. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen (found in The Devil's Roar, worth double), Valuable, and Cursed Treasure Chests. They emit a white glint.

Artefacts: Smaller items like trinkets, containers, and ornaments made of valuable metals and gems. They emit a golden glint and are found on their own, in chests, or in fortress vaults.
