- 1Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found through various means:
- Completing Voyages from Trading Companies.
- 2Discovering random loot on Islands, in Shipwrecks, or floating in the sea.
- 3Opening Vaults in Forts.
- 4Defeating enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken.
- 5Finding them in specific locations like Siren Shrines and Treasuries.
- 6Identifying Treasure: All Treasure items emit a distinct colored glint or glow, allowing players to identify them from a distance.
- 7Carrying Treasure: Treasure must be carried by hand to a Trading Company Representative. A pirate can only carry one item at a time and cannot use equipment or fight while carrying treasure. Dropping the item allows for full control. Harpoons can retrieve treasure from afar.
- 8Storing Treasure: Smaller treasure items can be placed in Container Chests, which can hold up to 3 items, hiding their glow and making transport easier.
- 9Selling Treasure: Treasure must be sold to the correct Trading Company Representative at an Outpost. Each company values specific types of treasure.
- 10Emissary System: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary grants bonus Reputation and Emissary Value for relevant treasures. Picking up and delivering these items increases your Emissary Grade.

- Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates.
- Regular Treasure Chests, Shipwrecked Treasure Chests, Coral Treasure Chests, Ashen Treasure Chests, Valuable Chests, and Cursed Treasure Chests all sell to the Gold Hoarders.
- Artefacts are smaller items found within Treasure Chests or Fortress Vaults and also sell to the Gold Hoarders.
- Different Trading Companies (Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, Merchant Alliance) have specific preferences for treasure types.
