The Ancient Spire Outpost — Sea of Thieves Walkthrough

Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found randomly across the Sea of Thieves, including on islands, in shipwrecks, floating in barrels, within fort vaults, or taken from enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken. Treasure items emit a colored glint or glow, making them visible from a distance.

Carrying Treasure: Treasure must be carried by hand to a Trading Company Representative at an Outpost for sale. While carrying treasure, a pirate cannot fight or use equipment/resources. The treasure must be dropped to regain full control. Harpoons can also retrieve treasure from afar. Smaller treasures can be placed in Container Chests (holding up to 3 items) to hide their glow and simplify transport.

Treasure Lifespan: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, though Trade Good Crates may float longer.

Emissary Bonus: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary grants Emissary Grade Reputation when picking up relevant treasure. Additional Reputation is awarded if the treasure is placed on the ship. These bonuses apply only to the first claim of a treasure item.

Trading Companies: Each Trading Company (Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, Merchant Alliance) values specific treasure types. Representatives at Outposts accept these treasures for Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value. They also offer Voyages that lead to treasure.

Types of Treasure: Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company they are sold to. Within the main companies, treasures can be Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.

Gold Hoarders Treasure: This includes Treasure Chests and Artefacts.

Treasure Chests: Unbreakable and locked chests sold to the Gold Hoarders. They emit a white glint. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral (found in Siren Shrines/Treasuries), Ashen (found in The Devil's Roar, worth double), Valuable (from specific encounters), and Cursed (tied to locations/effects, very valuable).

Artefacts: Smaller items found on their own, in chests, or fortress vaults. They emit a golden glint. Types include Trinkets, Containers, and Ornaments made of valuable metals and gems.
