The Sea Dog's Tavern — Sea of Thieves Walkthrough

Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found through dedicated Voyages, randomly across the Sea of Thieves, on Islands, in Barrels of Plenty, Shipwrecks, Fort Vaults, or taken by enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, or the Kraken. Treasure items emit a colored glint or glow for easy spotting.

Carrying Treasure: Treasure must be carried by hand to a Trading Company Representative. A pirate can only carry one item at a time and cannot use equipment or resources while carrying it. The treasure must be dropped to regain full control. Harpoons can retrieve treasure from afar. Smaller items can be placed in Container Chests (holding up to 3 items) to hide their glow and simplify transport.

Treasure Lifespan: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after about 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates which float longer.

Emissary Value: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary grants Emissary Grade Reputation when picking up relevant treasure. Additional Reputation is gained if the treasure is placed on the ship. These bonuses apply only to the first claim of a treasure item.

Treasure Types: Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company that buys them: Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, and Merchant Alliance. Within these, treasures can be Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.

Gold Hoarders Treasure: This category includes Treasure Chests and Artefacts.

Treasure Chests: These are locked chests sold to the Gold Hoarders. They can be found via Treasure Maps, Riddle Maps, Ancient Vaults, or randomly. They emit a White Glint. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen (found in The Devil's Roar, worth double), Valuable, and Cursed Treasure Chests.

Artefacts: Smaller items found on their own, in Treasure Chests, or Fortress Vaults. They emit a Golden Glint. Types include Regular Artefacts (trinkets, containers, ornaments), Ashen Artefacts, and Skeleton Artefacts.
