Learn how to find, carry, and sell various treasures in Sea of Thieves. Discover different treasure types, their locations, and how they contribute to your Gold, Reputation, and Emissary Value.
Walkthrough
- 1Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found via Voyages, randomly on islands, in shipwrecks, within Fort vaults, or dropped by enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken. Look for a colored glint or glow to spot treasure from afar.
- 2Carrying Treasure: You must carry treasure items by hand to sell them. While carrying, you cannot fight or use equipment. You can retrieve items from afar with a harpoon. Smaller treasures can be stored in Container Chests (up to 3 items) to hide their glow and simplify transport.
- 3Treasure Persistence: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after about 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates which float longer.
- 4Emissary Bonus: As a Trading Company Emissary, picking up relevant treasure grants Emissary Grade Reputation. This bonus increases when the treasure is placed on your ship and is awarded the first time a treasure item is claimed.
- 5Selling Treasure: Each Trading Company values specific treasure types. Representatives at Outposts accept these treasures for Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value.
Types of Treasure:
- Gold Hoarders Treasure: Includes various Treasure Chests (Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen, Valuable, Cursed) and Artefacts (Trinkets, Containers, Ornaments). Chests emit a white glint, while Artefacts emit a golden glint.
